About the talk
Dr. Elsa John will share her journey as the Acting Medical Superintendent at Sewa Bhawan Hospital in Jagdeeshpur, a small, 50-bedded mission hospital where she has worked for the past two years. She hopes to speak candidly about the joys and challenges of rural missions, particularly for students considering service obligations. She will discuss the purpose and pain of her experiences, highlighting the daily faithfulness of a God who provides. She stepped into this role alone, caring for a toddler while separated from her husband by distance, facing more questions than answers. Throughout this experience, she has discovered that God’s grace is truly sufficient, providing for each new day. Dr. Elsa John will also share stories from the work at Sewa Bhawan—patient stories that have deeply impacted her, which she hopes will inspire listeners as well.
