Born and raised in Mussoorie Deepak graduated from CMC Ludhiana in 1997 and thereafter worked at Chinchpada and Makunda hospitals. Following his postgraduate studies he moved on to Baptist Christian Hospital, Tezpur from 2004-2011. Under Deepak’s leadership, the hospital which was near shut-down saw a dramatic turn-around with rapid growth and development of high-quality services.
He is married to Ashita also an alumna of CMC Vellore and together in 2014, they moved to Chinchpada where they are currently working and are striving to make a significant impact by engagement with the community, and provision of high quality low cost services in a poverty stricken and challenging location. Deepak also has additional responsibilities as regional director of the central region in EHA Central. They are blessed with two children, Arnav & Tara.
MSc Nursing, Former Nursing Superintendent & Principal, Makunda Christian Hospital, Assam
Jasmine graduated from CMC Vellore and later did her Masters from St. Martha’s Hospital, Bangalore. Following which for nearly 10 years she served Nursing Superintendent, Principal Nursing Officer Makunda Christian Leprosy and General Hospital, Assam.
Served as Principal of Community College for General Duty Assistants /Health Assistants under collaboration with ICRDCE (an NGO), empowering girls/women by providing job opportunities in health care and ensuring availability of locally trained long term staff to improve quality of care in rural health care settings. She was instrumental in developing quality nursing services as well as education in a resource limited area.
Consultant, Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, CMC Vellore
Swetha a faculty at CMC Vellore’s Child and Adolescent Psychiatric program, her areas of interest are helping with dysfunctional families, eating disorders, and childhood trauma. Working with this particular group, she has discovered that psychological therapy function best when biblical principles are incorporated into the framework.
She fondly cherishes her service commitment period at Herbertpur Christian Hospital, where she worked in the states of Uttarakhand and Uttar Pradesh to provide crucial mental health services to underserved communities, significantly impacting the lives of many.
She and her husband Naveen, actively mentor young people and families, helping them experience God’s healing in times of brokenness and treading the path of discipleship. Their vision is to raise a generation with a radical love for Jesus who will fulfil the purposes of God in this age.
