Breakout session – ‘Justice’ in Government health care system

The role of a Christian doctor in ensuring justice through the public health system of our country is one of the most underestimated roles in our Christian medical community.

This breakout session will discuss the scope and possibilities for a young Christian government doctor in ensuring justice in the health care delivery system through supervision and implementation of various  schemes, utilization of the legal powers vested on a government public health official to fight injustice and discrimination affecting the lives of marginalized people like  sanitation in villages and schools, drinking water supply, outbreak prevention and management and policy making at various levels from a PHC to a country.

We will also discuss the uniqueness of a Christian government doctor among the peers and colleagues, bringing transparency and integrity in administration, when to go under a tide, when to swim against it, how to initiate one and take others along with it. We will finish by discussing about picking up the correct battles, the limitations, the various injustices in the public health care system and how we would like to bring a change in it.
