Shantanu Dutta

Dr Shantanu Dutta finished his MBBS from the Armed Forces Medical College, Pune in 1984. He comes from a Hindu family in Kolkata and came to follow Jesus Christ during his medical studies where he was active in the local Evangelical Union.

On graduating, he joined the Indian Air Force and served there for more than 6 years before leaving to marry Evangeline, his wife of 30 years who hails from the Philippines. After leaving the Air Force, he served in numerous Christian and secular NGOs.

Led by the desire to work towards holistic human development and not just classical clinical medicine, he did a Diploma in Community Health Management from RUHSA in 1992.

Dr Dutta writes for many Christian magazines and has contributed to many books too. For the last 8 years, he is serving with the International Justice Mission and is involved with work to combat human trafficking in India.
