In a fast-paced world where the context is changing rapidly: its priorities, values, and myriad others things are constantly being challenged.
Even in the church: The music, worship, wedding services, the theology etc have changed, leaving some of us with a disquieting feeling as boundary lines appear blurred! Probably you are asking, ‘Where am I?’ ‘What was my starting point?’
Secondly, as we read about the great exploits of pioneering missionaries in the rustic years, questions like:
‘What were the foundations of their faith?’, ‘What kept them going, fighting against the status quo?’ race through our minds.
A small attempt is made here to revisit the simple Biblical Foundations of our own faith.
The Bible is bang-on when Paul writes in 1Tim 4:16 ‘Watch your life and doctrine closely. Persevere in them……’.
The Foundations of our Faith is basically our Settled Convictions that will carry us through a lifetime.
